Job Description

As Tech Lead you are the key link between our scientific discoveries and product development efforts. You will define and execute the technical vision for our AI-based Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) platform. You’ll lead the engineering team, contribute hands-on across the stack, and build an infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and compliant. As part of our AI-first culture, you’ll also scout, evaluate, and integrate emerging tools and technologies to 10x the engineering team’s efficiency.

Job Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering team and set the technical culture for high performance.
  • Architect and maintain a scalable, secure AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code best practices.
  • Lead CI/CD strategy with automated testing and deployment pipelines.
  • Drive product full-stack development, contributing to the codebase as needed.
  • Define, build, and maintain APIs to serve internal tools and external integrations.
  • Implement security and privacy standards across the stack, ensuring HIPAA, GDPR, and ISO 27001 compliance.
  • Establish a compliant software development lifecycle in line with IEC 62304 and ISO 13485, with traceability, testing, and documentation built-in from day one.
  • Support regulatory documentation for submission under In Vitro diagnostic regulations in the US (FDA) and Europe (IVDR).
  • Own the IP technology strategy, working with legal teams to convert innovation into patents and defensible differentiation.
  • Champion our AI-first culture, staying ahead on emerging tools, frameworks, and developer productivity platforms (e.g., AI coding copilots).

Required Experience

  • 10+ years in software engineering, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong proficiency in full-stack development (ReactJS, Django, Flask, Node.js).
  • Experience designing and operating modern APIs and cloud-native apps on AWS.
  • Proficiency with AWS Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform.
  • Solid grounding in cybersecurity best practices and privacy frameworks (HIPAA/GDPR).
  • Experience contributing to or leading patent/IP strategy is a plus.

Qualification & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong system design, DevOps, and cloud architecture skills.
  • Excellent communicator, able to translate complex systems into simplified language.
  • Habit of staying current with emerging AI/dev tools, frameworks, and best practices.

Good to Have

  • Experience with AI/ML products and the evolving AI regulatory landscape.
  • Deep understanding of regulated software development (IEC 62304, ISO 13485).
  • Background in healthcare, digital pathology, or bioinformatics.
  • Startup or high-growth team experience.
  • Familiarity with tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Replit, or other AI productivity tools.
