Job Description

At StratifAI, we are developing the next generation of AI biomarkers in oncology. As a Biostatistician, you will play a key role in turning clinical data into robust, regulatory-grade evidence for our predictive models. With patients at the heart of everything, your expertise will help guide our AI development with statistically sound methodologies, driving our mission to truly personalized and ethical cancer care.

Job Key Responsibilities

  • Develop statistical evaluation protocols for both retrospective and prospective evaluations of our AI-driven biomarkers.
  • Work closely with AI researchers and clinicians to ensure clinical study design is statistically sound and fit for our intended purpose.
  • Support the preparation of regulatory documentation in the US (FDA) and EU (IVDR).
  • Participate in our scientific communication, including publications and brochures.
  • Translate complex statistical outcomes for diverse stakeholders, including medical doctors and patients.

Required Experience

  • Experience designing and analyzing clinical studies, particularly involving oncology and treatment response data.
  • Strong grasp of survival analysis, regression models, and time-to-event data.
  • Experience working with large-scale routinely collected medical data.
  • Experience conducting sample size and power calculations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Master’s or PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative field.
  • Proficiency in statistical programming with R and/or Python.
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical research, oncology studies, or real-world evidence generation.
  • Strong communication skills allowing you to translate complex statistical findings into clear insights.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams including AI engineers, clinicians, and regulatory experts.
  • Hybrid role: 3 days in-office (Berlin) / 2 days remote

Good to Have

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for statistical analysis in SaMD or diagnostic settings.
  • Publications in high-impact journals in biostatistics, oncology, or related fields.
  • Experience working in AI/ML-driven healthcare startups or research environments.
  • Familiarity with machine learning model evaluation.
  • Exposure to regulatory frameworks (e.g., FDA, IVDR, CLIA).
